Seen this or some version of it before. It's basically coming form the "evil-Jooz-are- controlling-the-world" folks. Ultra-right wing anti-semites masquerading as "libertarians".
No one enjoys paying taxes and we could use some serious reform in the way of how those tax dollars are spent but seriously...without taxes who exactly is going to pay for infrastructure and services?
Wow, Sammyray. Larry and I watched that movie last night and were just spellbound. In my profound ignorance, I did not realize the Federal Reserve was a private bank - and this (shamefully) after years as a working journalist. To Not Your Mama, I am the exact opposite of a ultra-rightwing Jew-hater. I'm a moderate to liberal woman who worries that the very type of branding you apply to the people who question the tax system is part of what keeps the illegality of it in force. I don't know if you watched the documentary or not, but if you did, does it not bother you a teensy-weensy bit that there is NO law on the books mandating a Federal Income Tax. Not even the former chairman of the IRS could cite one, and the Yiddish quote he gave the filmaker, "No one can help you," should be chilling. The guy who made the documentary doesn't strike me as a crackpot or a right-winger. If you watch the documentary you'll see that he's equally critical of both parties, and while I'm an Independent (not a Libertarian) the questions the Libertarians raise regarding rights, freedom and taxes should be voiced. If they're not, by the time the rest of the country notices, it may be too late. I fear it already is. Most people are more interested in what happens to Anna Nicole's body than what happens to their rights. Eventually, our shallowness will lead us down the path we've unwittingly chosen. To Sammyray, sorry for the long post and thanks for posting it. I'd like to also put it on my blog, if you don't mind. Even if people don't agree with the documentary, everyone could benefit from watching it.
@ Orhan: I'd love to come to Australia. Maybe we can fix those problems there together :)
@ Not Your Mama: According to the information on here, our income taxes go to pay the interest on the national debt, not to infrastructure. Things like highway construction are paid by gas taxes.
@ Morg: Absolutely repost it. I'm glad you found it as enlightening as I did.

I would love to sit here for 2hrs watching that (seriously, I would) but I need to sleep. I will re-vist to watch it on my days off.
I'd suggest you come to Australia (again!) but you'll find we also have our own problems.

Sammyray, can you tell me where you found it so I can post it on my blog?
@ Morg: Here is the address for the full-sized free video:
